Message from Ambassador Tan Jian
2020/12/28

Welcome to visit the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Thanks for following the development in China and relations between China and the Netherlands.

Located at the two ends of the Eurasian continent, China and the Netherlands established contacts and got connected thanks to the maritime silk road more than 400 years ago. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially over the past four decades, Sino-Dutch relations have enjoyed substantial and rapid progress. In 2014 and 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping and H.M. King Willem-Alexander paid successful and historical state visits to each other, and the two countries agreed to strive for an "Open and Pragmatic Partnership for Comprehensive Cooperation". In recent years, bilateral relations have made new and significant progress, witnessing frequent high-level exchange of visits, pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and fruitful people-to-people connectivity. Facing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, people from all walks of life in both countries have worked together to combat the virus, showing the spirit of sharing our fate in the same boat. With the joint efforts in the fight against the pandemic, bilateral relations between China and the Netherlands have emerged stronger and made fresh progress. Looking ahead, the two countries could write new chapters of friendship and cooperation, benefiting not only  our two peoples, helping promote the China-EU relations, but also addressing global challenges, contributing to the recovery of the world economy, and injecting positive energy into world peace and development.

The Chinese Embassy is committed to becoming a bridge and a window for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. We will make every effort to provide efficient services to people and agencies for the development of Sino-Dutch relations.

The Netherlands is home to major international judicial institutions such as the International Court, and some multilateral organizations such as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The Chinese Embassy and the Chinese delegation to the OPCW strive to strengthen the cooperation between China and those international institutions and organizations.

Your valuable advice will be highly appreciated.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the website.
