Premier Li Keqiang Meets with King William-Alexander of Netherlands

On the afternoon of October 26, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met in the Great Hall of the People with King William-Alexander of the Netherlands who was on a state visit to China.

Li Keqiang stated that China-Netherlands relationship is under smooth development, with fruitful achievements in exchanges and cooperation of various fields. President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to the Netherlands last year. China is willing to continue to work with the Netherlands to, in the spirit of mutual respect and win-win cooperation, jointly endeavor to promote bilateral relations for new development.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China and the Netherlands are important economic and trade partners to each other. The Netherlands has successful experience in developing modern agriculture, and China is willing to propel cooperation with the Netherlands in key areas such as modern agriculture and water conservancy, support cooperation between the energy enterprises of the two countries, and jointly develop third-party markets.

Li Keqiang emphasized that the development of China-EU relations is not only beneficial to the two sides but also critical to the world as a whole. As an important member of the EU, the Netherlands is about to take the rotating EU presidency in the first half of next year. It is hoped that the Netherlands will play a constructive role in advancing China-EU relations.

William-Alexander expressed that Netherlands-China relationship develops smoothly, with close high-level interactions. He has visited China for many times and witnessed the great achievements China has accomplished in its development and feels satisfied with the development momentum of bilateral relations. The Netherlands is willing to further exploit its technological advantages in agriculture and husbandry to facilitate bilateral cooperation in green development, agriculture and husbandry and other fields and support enterprises of the two countries to jointly explore third-party markets. The Netherlands is also willing to enhance coordination and cooperation with China in international and multilateral arenas to promote the development of EU-China relations.
