The Press Office under the Ministry of
Health published Friday afternoon a press release on the
latest SARS situation on the Chinese mainland.
From 10:00 am June 19 to 10:00 am June 20, the
Chinese mainland reported no new diagnosed or suspected SARS
case, 20 patients recovered and discharged from hospital,
and no death. Patients recovered included 18 from Beijing
and 1 each from Shanghai and Guangxi.
From
10:00 am June 19 to 10:00 am June 20, Xinjiang reported 1
misdiagnosed suspected case.
Now 166 diagnosed
patients are receiving treatment in hospitals on the Chinese
mainland, including 134 from Beijing, 17 from Tianjin, 4
from Shanxi, 3 each from Liaoning and Guangdong, 2 from
Inner Mongolia, and 1 each from Shanghai, Chongqing and
Sichuan.
The Chinese mainland reported 23
suspected cases, including 10 from Tianjin, 8 from Inner
Mongolia, 3 from Beijing, and 1 each from Liaoning and
Guangdong.
According to the statistical
standard of the WHO, by 10:00 am June 20, provinces on the
Chinese mainland reporting SARS cases within 20 days
included Beijing, Liaoning and Sichuan. Beijing had reported
no new diagnosed case for 9 days. Liaoning had reported no
local transmission and no new diagnosed case for 17 days.
Sichuan had reported no local transmission and no new
diagnosed case for 14 days.
