State Councilor Yang Jiechi Meets with Brunei's Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lim Jock Seng

On April 1, 2013, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Brunei's Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lim Jock Seng.

Yang said China attaches great importance to the upcoming state visit to China by Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his attendance at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2013. Yang believed that both sides would take this as an opportunity to deepen pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade, energy, culture and other fields and promote China-Brunei relations to a new level. China will continue to view and develop the strategic partnership with ASEAN from a strategic perspective and is ready to work with Brunei to push forward the China-ASEAN cooperation in various fields.

Lim Jock Seng said Brunei is looking forward to enhancing cooperation with China in various fields, expressing the belief that Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's forthcoming visit to China will lift the bilateral relations to a new level. He also wished the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference a success. Brunei, which holds the rotating presidency of ASEAN this year, will strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side to push the China-ASEAN relations for new progress.
