At the invitation of Mr. Cees van Leeuwen, State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, Chinese Governmental Cultural Delegation, headed by Mr. Zhao Weisui, Vice Minister for Culture，has paid an official visit to the Netherlands from 9th to 12nd October, 2002.

　　During their visit, the members of the delegation have met with the State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science, and other related officials in charge of cultural affairs. The Chinese Vice Minister and Dutch State Secretary signed the "Joint Declaration of Mr. Mr. Zhao Weisui, Vice Minister of Culture of the People's Republic of China and Cees van Leeuwen, State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands".
　
　　The delegation has also held a round-table discussion with representatives from the cultural circle of the Netherlands. Mr. Pu Tong, deputy director general of Bureau of external cultural relations and Mr. Wang Yansheng, director, division of European Affairs, Bureau of of external cultural relations, briefly introduced the upcoming event of the "China year" which will be held in France from 2003 to 2004.
